Wanting to recycle? Now you can! Johnson County residents now have a place to take items to be recycled with the opening of the Cleburne Recycling Center. We all manage to accumulate so much stuff that we just wind up throwing away and now you can do your part by making those items available to be used again and again! Bring your plastic bottles, jugs, packaging, soda & water bottles, plastic milk jugs and some produce and bakery packaging. Any “tin”, aluminum or steel, beverage & food cans and metal lids can be recycled. Paper items including newspapers, junk mail, magazines, coupons, enevelopes, and even PHONE BOOKS! Cardboard and glass will also be accepted! All Cleburne and Johnson County residents whose communities do not provide recycling are welcome to use this FREE service. It is that time again to come out and support the Johnson County Relay for Life as they host their annual fundraiser. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. In past years the event has been held at the Cleburne High School Yellow Jacket track but due to putting in new grass the track is unavailable. So make note of the new location at Smith Middle School at the corner of Nolan River and Country Club Drive in Cleburne.
